Apply for this role ↓We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading property maintenance and social housing provider for an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join their team in Stratford.
This is a varied role working across occupied and void residential properties, carrying out plumbing repairs alongside a range of associated multi-trade works. The ideal candidate will have a strong plumbing background and be confident carrying out additional repairs and maintenance as required.
The Role
- You will be responsible for carrying out plumbing and multi-trade repairs and maintenance, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include
- Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance across occupied and void residential properties.
- Diagnosing plumbing faults and completing repairs right first time wherever possible.
- Undertaking responsive repairs, void works and remedial maintenance.
- Carrying out associated multi-trade works, including basic carpentry, patch plastering, tiling, decorating and other general repairs.
- Installing, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and fittings.
- Working safely in line with risk assessments, method statements and company procedures.
- Recording job details, materials used and completion notes using handheld devices/job management systems.
- Liaising professionally with residents and reporting any access issues, safeguarding concerns or additional works.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and van stock.
- Identifying and escalating complex or specialist repairs where required.
- Working alongside other trades to support the successful delivery of property maintenance contracts.
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service at all times.
About You
- We're looking for an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative with a strong background in domestic property maintenance.
You will ideally have
- Proven experience as a Plumber within domestic, housing association or social housing environments.
- Strong plumbing skills and experience carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance.
- Experience working in occupied properties and/or voids.
- Good multi-trade skills, with the ability to carry out basic associated repairs.
- The ability to diagnose faults and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Experience using handheld devices or job management systems.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety, Manual Handling and Asbestos Awareness.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant plumbing qualification or equivalent practical experience.
