The Role
- We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Transport Supervisor to join a well-known and established transport and logistics company based in Redditch.
- This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transport, logistics or supervisory experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and professional operation.
- Working as part of the transport management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily transport operations, supporting drivers and maintaining high standards of service, safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and coordinating day-to-day transport operations.
- Managing and supporting a team of drivers and transport staff.
- Ensuring vehicles and drivers are operating safely and efficiently.
- Monitoring driver performance, attendance and compliance.
- Supporting the planning and coordination of routes and deliveries.
- Dealing with operational issues and resolving problems quickly and effectively.
- Ensuring all transport legislation, company policies and procedures are followed.
- Communicating effectively with drivers, management, customers and other departments.
- Monitoring service levels and helping to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Completing relevant transport administration and operational records.
- Supporting the Transport Manager with the overall running of the operation.
- Taking responsibility for the operation during your shift and escalating issues where appropriate.
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
- Supervisory or team-leading experience.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- A good understanding of transport operations and driver management.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- The flexibility to work additional hours where required, particularly during the training period.
- Flexibility will be required initially until you are fully trained and established in the role.
